Much of the work from the Dawson Lab on the CO-OP Approach is included in this text. The text brings together current thinking on the CO–OP Approach’s theoretical foundations, active ingredients, and potential mechanisms of action, and provides up-to-date evidence regarding efficacy. Research arising from the Dawson Lab focuses broadly on understanding how cognitive processes in acquired brain disorders and aging affect people’s abilities to be autonomous in community living. We are interested in ecologically valid assessments to characterize the effects of cognitive changes on everyday life and in developing and evaluating effective interventions that promote participation in every-day life. Further details of our research can be found in our publications.
